Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development
Born in 1961 in Czernikowo near Toruń.
In 1985, he graduated from the University of Technology and Agriculture in Bydgoszcz, Faculty of Agriculture. As a student, he acted in the Independent Students’ Association. Since 1983, together with his wife, he has run their own farm.
In the years 1998-2002, on behalf of the Solidarity Electoral Action he was a councillor of the Kujawsko-Pomorski sejmik. In the years 2010-2011, he served as a councillor of the he was a councillor of the Kujawsko-Pomorski sejmik on behalf of PiS. From 1992 to 2002, he was Vice-Chairman of the National Agricultural Advisory Council and in the years 2003-2007 – President of the National Council of Agricultural Chambers in Warsaw.
From 2005 to 2007, he was the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Between 2008 and 2010, he served as advisor for agriculture and rural development to the President of Poland, Lech Kaczyński.
He is the Deputy to the Sejm of the 7th and 8th term. In the 8th term, he was the Vice-Chairman of the Committee of Agriculture and in the Committee of Energy and State Treasury. Awarded with the honorary badge “Meritorious for Agriculture” (2001) and Gold Cross of Merit (2004).
Married, has five children.
