As part of his visit to Pomerania, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki paid a call to Pomeranian University in Słupsk. The meeting concerned the implementation of a multiannual compensation scheme for the construction of the anti-missile shield in Redzikowo. Investments under the first signed agreements are to commence soon.

‘Making the chart of post-coronavirus economic recovery V-shaped lies at the heart of our economic plan,’ said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Słupsk, focusing particularly on investments in smaller municipalities.

He highlighted the importance of such undertakings in the development of the region. ‘The investments are a responsible development plan adapted to the aftermath of the coronavirus,’ he continued.

Programme for the enhancement of development opportunities in the Słupsk Land

A government programme which will enhance the development opportunities of the Słupsk region and increase quality of life for the inhabitants. Factors leading to the initiation of the programme include the placement of the Missile Defence Base in Redzikowo.

‘We are entering the key phase of the compensation scheme, namely the implementation of first investment projects. I am really happy with this fact as we will see its first effects in our region as soon as this year,’ said government spokesperson Piotr Müller, Sejm Deputy for the Słupsk Land, who kickstarted and coordinated the programme.

Once carried out, the programme will have brought PLN 115 million for investments in education, transport and sporting infrastructure between 2020 and 2024. The first agreements signed provide for the execution of seven investment projects with close to PLN 14 million of subsidies.

Even more financing for regional roads

The programme will provide further financing for road investments:

The region obtains additional funds for road infrastructure from government road construction programmes. Thanks to increased expenditure on the National Road Construction Programme for the years 2014-2023, road construction works for the Tricity Beltway and the S6 at the Lębork-Bożepole Wielkie, Słupsk-Lębork and Koszalin-Sławno-Słupsk sections will continue.

Additional funds for education and sporting infrastructure

As part of the compensation scheme, a portion of state budget funds will be allocated to the creation and expansion of education and sports facilities.

In addition, local athletes will receive a subsidy of over PLN 1.5 million under the Club 2020 government scheme. The money will go to clubs with the Słupsk, Lębork, Bytów, Chojnice, Człuchów, Kartuzy, Kościerzyna, Puck and Wejherowo poviats (districts).

The Active Academy Project
