Born on September 25, 1965 in Sochaczew. Deputy for the Sejm of the III, IV, V, VII, and VIII  term. 

Graduated from the History Faculty of the University of Warsaw. Activist of the Independent Students’ Union (Niezależne Zrzeszenie Studentów). As a representative of the opposition student organizations, he took part in one of the subgroups of the Round Table. Co-founder of the "Pamiętamy” Foundation that strives to commemorate the Cursed Soldiers. In 1993, he founded and then chaired the Republican League Association. In 1997 he was elected the deputy to the Sejm from the all-Polish list of the Solidarity Electoral Action (AWS).

In 2001 and 2005 he received the mandate of MP representing the LaJ in Warsaw region. In 2001 - 2002 he was the Vice-President of Right Alliance party, then together with this party he joined the LaJ, where in 2004 - 2006 he held the positon of the president of the Warsaw region. Secretary of State in the Chancellery of Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz’s Cabinet. On July 5, 2006 he surrendered his office as an MP. On July 6, 2006 he was nominated the plenipotentiary for the organisation of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. On August 3, 2006, Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński appointed him the Head of the newly established Central Anti-Corruption Bureau. On October 13, 2009 Donald Tusk dismissed him from his post. In January 2011, he again joined the Law and Justice party. Reelected to the Sejm in the elections of 2011. On November 26, 2011, by the decision of the Law and Justice Political Council, he became the Vice President of the party. In 2015, he was reelected to the Sejm from the Law and Justice list.

In 2010 President Lech Kaczyński awarded him the Polonia Restituta Commander's Cross.
