Minister of health


Born on January 9, 1958 in Wrocław.

Graduate of the Medical University of Warsaw. Since graduation, he worked as a GP, for a number of years in his own clinic that was managed by him. He also worked in hospital emergency service and in industrial medicine centers; he was an expert of the Healthcare Information Systems Center. He is a lecturer in the Department of Family Medicine of Medical University of Warsaw and the World Health Organization expert.

Family medicine specialist. He completed postgraduate studies in bioethics at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) inn Warsaw and in health economics at the University of Warsaw, is certified candidate for member of supervisory boards of state-owned companies (in 2013 - 2015 he chaired the Supervisory Board of the St. Sophie Hospital in Warsaw).

Active in the medical self-government; in 2001 - 2010 he was the president of the Supreme Medical Council. Now he is the Council’s secretary.

In 2010 - 2012 he was the president of the Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME).

Since November 2015 he has been the Senator of the Republic of Poland.
