Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Development
Responsible for execution of the socio-economic development strategy, including the country zoning. She manages the European Funds implementation system and the transport infrastructure (roads, railway, air traffic and sailing). Her responsibilities also include matters related to construction and housing promotion.
She was born on 4 February 1964 in Katowice. She graduated in oriental studies from the Jagiellonian University. She also graduated from the National School of Public Administration and from the Warsaw School of Economics post-graduate MBA course.
She likes listening to music, also at work. Her favourite place in the earth are the Balkans. She has always kept two or three dogs at home, most of them found in the street.
She has been involved in the implementation of EU funds throughout her career. In 1999-2007, she was the Director of the Department of Regional Development at the Office of the Śląskie Voivodeship Marshal. In 1999, she was the Katowice Voivode’s representative for the voivodeship development strategy. Earlier, she worked in the Voivodeship’s Office Department of Economy in Katowice, where she participated, among other things, in the development on the regional contract for the Voivodeship.
She is an expert in international projects, a lecturer and author of publications. She is fluent in English.
She is the laureate of many prestigious awards for her professional achievements, such as the Kisiel Award, the Platinum Laurel of Skill and Competence, and the Grzegorz Palka award. In 2012, she was awarded the Grand Officer of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit by King Harald V for involvement in building friendly relations and cooperation between Poland and Norway and effective implementation of Norwegian Financial Mechanisms.
She is married and has three children.
