Warsaw: The Prime Minister attended the ceremony of signing the contract for the revitalisation and expansion of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Institute of Oncology

I am convinced that this Institute will be a very important milestone on the road to improving the health of Poles said the head of the government.

In September this year, the Council of Ministers adopted a resolution on a long-term investment programme to revitalise and expand of the Oncology Institute in Warsaw, aiming to create conditions for modern and effective treatment of oncological patients. With this investment, a modern and patient-friendly centre will be built, providing comprehensive oncological services. The programme will cost PLN 872 million, including PLN 740 million from the Ministry of Health.

Mateusz Morawiecki also participated in a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Health and the management of the Oncology Institute, during which they discussed the establishment of the National Institute of Oncology. This project is one of the elements of a comprehensive oncology reform in Poland.
