The talk of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki with the Vice President of the USA Mike Pence

The current bilateral cooperation, energy security, including Nord Stream 2, military cooperation and cooperation in terms of defence industries as well as economic cooperation – were the topic of the phone call between Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and the United States’ Vice President Mike Pence.


On behalf of Donald Trump, the Vice president of the United States congratulated Mateusz Morawiecki on taking the Prime Minister’s seat.

He also congratulated him on the 100th anniversary of regaining independence by Poland.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki underlined strong links between the two countries. He hoped that dynamic contacts at the highest political level would be maintained.

As Prime Minister Morawiecki underlined, safety is of key importance to Poland, both in terms of defence and energy. We welcome American support for the diversification of energy sources, i.a. gas supply to Poland from the USA, including the support for the Baltic Pipe. This is all the more important as infrastructure, energy, transport and IT sectors form an important area of cooperation in the context of the Three Seas initiative.

The Head of the Polish Government underlined that the presence of American military forces in the region is significant for Europe’s safety and it demonstrates the transatlantic unity.

The Vice President of the USA and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki have made arrangements for talks in Washington. The details of the meeting will be agreed in the near future. At the same time, Vice-President Mike Pence accepted an invitation to Poland.
