The Prime Minister highlighted that this event is a great promotion of Poland and Polish sport. As he added,
doing sport is the best prevention against sickness, and that is why it is worth investing in.
The first Tour de Pologne race took place in 1928, i.e. 10 years after Poland’s regaining independence, and a quarter of a century after the first famous Tour de France. One of the honorary patrons of TdP was the President Ignacy Mościcki, and the Marshal Józef Piłsudski was Head of the Honorary Committee.
