The Prime Minister during a show for the 100th anniversary of Silesian Uprisings

In the Cathedral of Christ the King in Katowice, the Head of Government watched a ceremonial music show about history for the 100th anniversary of the Silesian Uprisings entitled “In 1919, in the great uprising”. The topic of the show was the uncompromising fight of the Silesians for the unification of Upper Silesia with Poland and the influence of the uprisings on shaping the character and identity of today’s Silesia.

The show narrated the story from 1919 to 2019, showing Silesians’ pride of their local and national identity, highlighting that today, Silesia is a crucial region and an integral and inviolable part of the Republic of Poland.

The three Silesian Uprisings took part in 1919–1921 in the period when Poland was still shaping itself after the end of World War I.
