According to tradition, the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association receives Light from Slovak scouts. Its passing on takes place alternately, once in Slovakia and once in Poland. Every year the relay is guided by a different motto, this year it is "Light that gives power". From Poland the flame is passed on to Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, and also to Russia, Germany and Denmark.

Prime Minister emphasised that the help scouts offer to people makes the world a better place. "We also want to help people, so thank you very much for this Peace Light of Bethlehem - we really need it.

At the scouts’ request, the head of the government put his signature on a memorial Christmas bauble.

The first Peace Light of Bethlehem was passed on to Poland in 1991. Like every year, the light from scouts will go to hospitals, churches, offices and social organisations. Members of the government, the President, the Marshals of the Sejm and Senate and the Primate of Poland receive the light from scouts as well.
