The Head of Government at the opening of the Convention of Silesian Clubs of “Gazeta Polska”

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Silesian Uprisings, the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki attended the opening of the Congress of Silesian Clubs of Gazeta Polska.

Addressing the participants, the Head of Government pointed out that he has the honour of meeting the contemporary knighthood of the Republic of Poland. I am glad that there are people who nurture Poland in their hearts he emphasised. Thank you for the fact that together we are following the path towards a stronger, more fair and greater Poland – towards a Poland of our dreams he added.

Referring to the Silesian Uprisings the Prime Minister pointed out that the Miracle on the Rawa is not less that a Miracle on the Vistula. It contributed to the existence of the 2nd Republic of Poland in another way. As he added, in so far as the Miracle on the Vistula was militarily decisive, the Miracle on the Rawa made Poland be as it could be.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the industry which was reborn in the 2nd Republic of Poland which was reborn thanks to Silesia. Without Silesia there would be no Gdynia or the Central Industrial Region,” he said. “The industrial heart beat exactly here, in Silesia he added.

The Silesian Uprisings are three armed conflicts in Upper Silesia which took place in 1919–1921 between the Polish and the German populations.
