The meeting was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Public Benefit Committee, Professor Piotr Gliński. Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Gliński emphasized the importance of the Council as the first body in the history of Poland established for the purposes of civil dialogue between the representatives of the highest public authorities and the Young Generation. He also noted that a very important task for the first term of the Council is to support the development of youth councils at local government level. Wojciech Kaczmarczyk, the director of the National Freedom Institute – Centre for Civil Society Development (NIW – CRSO) and the secretary of the Public Benefit Committee, and MP Paweł Lisiecki, chairman of the Parliamentary Team for Supporting Youth Councils at Local Government Units, also took the floor.
Then followed the discussion and voting, during which the Council regulations and working plan were adopted. Working groups and their coordinators were established as well. The meeting was conducted by Piotr Mazurek, the co-chairman of the Council, and Piotr Wasilewski.
