Prime Minister: We must take care of those who built the foundations of our future, namely of our senior citizens

The fact whether the country takes proper care of the elderly is a testimony to the quality of the institution of the country, of its functioning, said Mateusz Morawiecki during the meeting with senior citizens in Brennik, near Legnica, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The Prime Minister pointed out that senior citizens have various needs and problems inherent to older age. We want to make the autumn of people’s lives easier, added the Prime Minister.

Moreover, we need to take care of the present, take care of those who built the foundations of our future, that is our pensioners, senior citizens, people who need support, the state’s outstretched hand today, continued Mateusz Morawiecki.

The Prime Minister reminded that during the last meeting of the Council of Ministers, the government decided that the so-called 13th pension for all pensioners will be paid annually. In April 2020, pensioners will receive an additional PLN 1,200 gross.

Moreover, by decision of the government, the indexation of pensions will amount to at least PLN 70 gross. In addition, the lowest pension benefits will also increase.
