The Head of Government signed a resolution on the expansion and modernization of PUM and the Independent Public University Hospital No. 1 in terms of clinical teaching and innovative medical implementations. The state budget will allocate roughly PLN 593 million to the project. As he said, “I believe the Pomeranian Medical University will be a major European scientific centre providing modern research methods”.
“Investing in health care and science is the best investment in the future,”
said the Head of Government. It will enable increasing the quantity and quality of medical services, extending the oncological service offer and shortening the time waiting for treatment.
The Prime Minister also paid a visit to the Medical Simulation Centre of the Pomeranian Medical University, one of the most advanced education facilities for medicine students.
The investment envisages expansion of the Oncology, Chemotherapy and Cancer Immunotherapy Clinical Ward, establishing a supra-regional parenteral and enteral nutrition centre for children along the Paediatrics and Nutrition Ward as well as expansion of Specialist Out-patient Clinics for Adults and Children.
