Prime Minister Szydło in Stalowa Wola: We want to build the Polish economy on the basis of the Polish potential

On Thursday, Prime Minister Beata Szydło participated in the official ceremony of signing an agreement between the Ministry of National Defence and Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. on delivery for the Polish Army of “RAK” self-propelled mortars and “RAK” system artillery command vehicles.

Polish economy based on the Polish potential

Prime Minister Beata Szydło assured that her government will support modernisation of the army on the basis of the Polish technical thought and domestic arms industry. Our government’s ambition is to build the Polish economy on the basis of the Polish potential and possibilities - Prime Minister Szydło emphasised. She added that what is her cabinet’s priority is also fast economic development, which will benefit all citizens and regions. The Polish army is the guarantee of Polish citizens’ security. The head of the government thanked Minister of National Defence Antoni Macierewicz and the president of Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. for the agreement on production of  “RAK” mortars. It benefits the Polish army, Stalowa Wola, but, first and foremost, the Polish economy – she emphasised. At the same time, the prime minister pointed out that it is the first agreement of that type since the beginning of her term in office. Recently, an agreement has been signed in Sanok which has saved Autosan, a Polish company famous mainly for manufacturing of buses.

Modern mortars for the Polish army

The agreement entered into by the Ministry of National Defence and Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. provides for the manufacturing and delivery of 8 modules of 120-mm “RAK” self-propelled mortars, i.e. 64 units in total. What will complement the contract will be the manufacturing and delivery of 32 “RAK” system artillery command vehicles. Huta Stalowa Wola S.A. manufactures world-class military equipment. Its showpiece are “RAK” self-propelled mortars - the most modern equipment of this type in the world, equipped with electronic steering.
