Prime Minister: Silesia combines patriotism and Polishness

On the occasion of the centenary of the Silesian Uprisings, the passengers of Silesian Railways will have the opportunity to travel by a special “golden train”, commemorating the heroes of those events – Wojciech Korfanty, the national leader of Upper Silesia or Józef Rymer, the first Silesian voivode, among others.

“This train is a symbol of something particularly close to my heart – the memory of the past,” said the Prime Minister. As he emphasised, “We are liable to the future generations and those who are gone to build a better and modern future”.

In accordance with the concept, the “golden train” will be available to the local community not only in the Year of Silesian Uprisings but also in subsequent years, to remind of this particularly important event in the region’s history.

“The Independence Stop, which for our compatriots was the last stop in their fight for independence, is for us the first stop on our way towards a modern Poland,” the Prime Minister concluded.
