Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki’s visit to the first sextuplets in Poland

The Prime Minister saw the happy family and the staff of the University Hospital in Krakow. He gave the family keys to a car which is suitable for the needs of a family of 9. It was possible to make this gift thanks to the support of PFR Foundation and PKO Bank Polski Foundation. One in 4.7 billion pregnancies leads to sextuplets.

Approximately 40 people from the Department of Obstetrics and Perinatology and the Department of Neonatology helped to deliver the babies.

The Department of Obstetrics and Perinatology includes a highly specialised pregnancy pathology clinic that offers consultations which are necessary in the case of high-risk pregnancies, in accordance with the prenatal care programme. Last year, 3309 children, including 125 pairs of twins and 9 sets of triplets, were born in that Department.

The Department of Neonatology is the first department in Poland to apply and establish respiratory support procedures from the very first moments of life. Currently, it is Poland’s leading centre in the application of non-invasive ventilation in infants.
