The amendment to the Act provides, inter alia, for a fourfold reduction in the excise tax rate on energy and a 95 percent reduction in the transitional fee.

The effect of the proposed amendments will be to reduce the bills of individual consumers and businesses and local governments by more than PLN 3.5 billion, as well as to maintain energy prices at the level of the first half of 2018.

The solutions proposed by us are based on energy sovereignty, security and competitiveness of the economic sector, they are also good for local governments said the Prime Minister. Mechanisms are also being developed to return to prices from before 1 July 2018 for private distribution companies that have already concluded new contracts with local governments.

Maintaining energy prices is a good solution for Polish families and an expression of determination of the Polish Government. The Prime Minister reminded that electricity prices in Poland are currently among the lowest for households in Europe.

We care for the Poles wallets, so that electricity prices do not increase,’ said the Prime Minister.
