Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki participated in the commemoration of the 8th anniversary of the Tu-154M aircraft crash near Smoleńsk.

As part of the celebrations, the head of government participated in the ceremonial mass for crash victims at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and of St. Joseph in Warsaw and the call of honour. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki visited the graves of crash victims in the cemetery in Bródno and the Powązki Military Cemetery as well as the Temple of Divine Providence.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister participated in the ceremony of unveiling the monument commemorating the victims of the Smoleńsk tragedy of 2010 on the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also took part in the ceremony of unveiling foundation stone for the monument to late President Lech Kaczyński.

The commemoration events of the 8th anniversary of the plane crash near Smoleńsk ended with the March of Memory which took place following the solemn mass for Smoleńsk crash victims at the Cathedral Basilica of the Martyrdom of St. John the Baptist in Warsaw.
