The Head of Government pointed out that the construction of the dam will improve the safety of the inhabitants and have positive impact on the development of the region. As he said here draught is a major problem for farmers, and this dam will make the groundwater level rise. He added that it will be possible to supply the reservoir water to the agricultural holdings in the area.

The Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki declared that the water barrage in Siarzewo will improve the safety of the inhabitants also during floods.

Moreover this investment means new jobs and a wharf for the floating craft, which is important for the development of our economy and for making the Vistula river more navigable emphasized the Head of Government.

The construction of the barrage in Siarzewo will contribute also to improving the natural environment. As the Prime Minister said, 500 ha of riparian forests will be reconstructed, and because the project foresees that apart from the regulation of water level, the barrier will have the function of a hydropower plant of about 80 MW, the new dam will produce the so-called pure electricity.

The investment foresees the reconstruction of the Vistula riverbed in the section between Siarzewo and Włocławek, as well as construction of a dam, the aim of which is, inter alia, to secure the barrage in Włocławek and improve the flood safety in the region. The investment will improve the navigability of Vistula river and reduce the effects of the drought.
