Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: NATO guarantees security

The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation occupies the most prominent place in the global security structure, and all NATO members feel jointly responsible for the security of the entire Euro-Atlantic Community said the Head of Government.

Today’s celebrations form part of the official celebrations lauding Poland's accession to the structures of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. Three of the four Visegrad countries, namely Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary, acceded to NATO on 12 March 1999, and Slovakia acceded in 2004.

The Prime Minister stressed that NATO countries have proven to be valuable members of the Alliance through intensified commitment to expanding and modernising their defence capabilities over the past 20 years.

We shall work to enhance our North-Atlantic collective defence system declared the Prime Minister with regard to threats such as the war in the east of Ukraine, the fragility of NATO's southern flank, international terrorism and cybersecurity.

The celebrations attended by prime ministers and defence ministers of the V4 countries were held on the premises of the 1st Armoured Brigade in Warsaw's Wesoła.
