During the discussions, the significance of developing common interests between Poland and the Baltic states was emphasised, especially in the light of the difficult security situation in the region and the challenges which the European Union is facing.

The heads of the governments also declared their willingness to strengthen cooperation with regard to regional energy and infrastructure projects, such as Rail Baltica and Via Baltica.

Mateusz Morawiecki also participated in a bilateral meeting with the Latvian Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš, during which they discussed the issues related to the cooperation of the two countries in the EU, NATO, Baltic cooperation organisations and regional infrastructure cooperation projects.
