Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki meets Michel Barnier

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with Michel Barnier, the Chief Negotiator of the European Commission for the United Kingdom's exit from the EU, on Friday, 12 October, in Warsaw. The aim of the meeting was to discuss the state of negotiations and the future EU–UK relations.

Michel Barnier is the Chief Negotiator of the EC Task Force for the Preparation and Conduct of the Negotiations with the United Kingdom under Article 50 TEU. He meets regularly with EU27 heads of state and government to discuss current issues concerning Brexit.

The visit to Warsaw takes place in the run-up to the October European Council, during which EU27 leaders will discuss scenarios and a timetable for further negotiations with the United Kingdom.
