The Prime Minister noted that in addition to adequate infrastructure and new investments in the region, it is also very important to take care of clean air, because according to the World Health Organisation Dąbrowa Górnicza is on the list of fifty most polluted cities in Europe. According to Mateusz Morawiecki, the replacement of furnaces, improvement of fuel quality and the insulation of buildings are
the three most important mechanisms that the government implements to improve air quality also in this city.
The Head of Government hopes that new investment programmes such as the use of hydrogen to power buses, can be implemented in Silesia in the near future.
It is a fuel that gives us not only clean air, but also energy sovereignty he emphasised.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also visited Ruda Śląska where he met with the employees of Huta Pokój S.A.
It is a pearl in the history of Polish industry, which must not only survive, but also develop said the Prime Minister. As he added,
it is a very important plant which gives several hundred jobs in Ruda Śląska.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the government has
plans for further development of the plant, which will improve its operation and reduce production costs, so that the margins of products sold and the plant’s income are as high as possible.
During his speech, the Prime Minister also referred to the development of the city and, as he pointed out,
we want to propose new projects to Ruda Śląska, such as the development of land belonging, inter alia, to Huta Pokój which, in his opinion, in cooperation with the Katowice Special Economic Zone, will attract new investors to the city.
