Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: I want to thank all services for their efficient operation

Due to the weather conditions in Małopolskie and neighbouring voivodeships, the Prime Minister participated in another crisis team meeting in Kraków. During the meeting, current situation in areas affected by the flood was discussed and action was undertaken in order to minimise losses.

The Prime Minister visited also other locations affected by floods and inundations in Podkarpackie Voivodeship, including areas of Łęg river in Ruda near Stalowa Wola where firefighters strengthened the flood bank, as well as Wrzawy in Tarnobrzeg Poviat where a flood action took place as well. The Head of Government met also police officers from the police water station in Kraków.

After visiting the flooded areas, the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki participated in the crisis team briefing in Podkarpackie Voivodship Office. As he assessed, the operations of the services are very coherent and professional. We are undertaking preventive measures as well. It is important to prevent crises, not to struggle with their effects later on he said.

The Prime Minister thanked the services, the Police, the Army and the fire brigades, for their hard work in recent days and for their readiness and coordination which made it possible to avoid many disasters. As he added, in relation to the weather conditions in southern and eastern Poland, the services still carry out operations in order to help those who live in the areas affected by inundations caused by intense rainfall.
