The Prime Minister stressed that Poland wants to ensure peace in the Middle East. As he pointed out, in order to avoid conflicts resulting from humanitarian and migration crises, it is necessary to ensure long-term development in this region. He also added that
we must help in the way that is the most effective and will also have a long-term impact.
The Prime Minister pointed out that helping the refugees is one of the greatest challenges facing the international community. In his opinion, it must be provided in the most effective way, generating lasting and long-term results.
The Prime Minister reminded that the Polish government, in cooperation with many European countries and the US government, is engaged in humanitarian aid on a large scale. He added that it is necessary to help countries such as Turkey and Lebanon where refugees seek refuge.
The Head of the Polish Government expressed his hope that the meeting in Warsaw will enable,
for the sake of peace in the region an open debate and exchange of arguments of its participants, as well as constructive work in working groups. He also reminded that despite all differences, the aim of the conference is to ensure peaceful future and stability in the Middle East.
Earlier, the Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki met with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu. They discussed i.a. bilateral relations and challenges in the field of security faced by the international community.
