The need for change
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki noticed that
people currently governing the state are sometimes pilloried by those who are too deeply immersed in the past. As he added,
we would like to invite for cooperation our opponents who look at the reality in a different way, as there is and there should be only one Poland and it is our common good.
The Prime Minister said about the results of mistakes made for the past twenty five years, as a result of which Poland fell into demographic and dependent development traps.
Commenting on the first one, the head of the Government emphasized that in 2014 Central Statistical Office predicted that the birth rate in 2017 would reach 340 thousand, and in fact it reached 402 thousand.
Our programme, which aims at Poland being big in twenty as well as in a hundred and twenty years, is slowly showing results - said Mateusz Morawiecki. He emphasized that thanks to the "Family 500+” programme the results can also be noticed in the Podlasie region.
Speaking about the dependent development after 1989 and the need for its change, the Prime Minister emphasized that
people who are currently running the country are doing their best so that there would be more Polish ownership in Polish economy, and that there would be more Polish entrepreneurs having high income and margins which they would share with their employees, thanks to which the capital would come back to Poland.
Problems in agriculture
We can see the problems of farmers and together with the head of Ministry of Agriculture we are working on a new offer for the farmers. In the first half of this year we would like to offer new solutions - said the head of government. And he added that
people who formerly ran the country introduced regulations which imposed fines on the farmers who sold their own regional farm produce in the local markets. The Prime Minister emphasized that it was the government that changed the situation enacting a new law on agricultural retail trade which is still to be liberalized.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also commented on the problem of African swine fever virus (ASFV). In this context he said that the Government and the agricultural community are discussing whether
to build a barrier along the eastern border. Also, more funds will be provided for biosafety and shooting of wild boars as animals which are the carriers of the virus.
