Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki: For the late president Lech Kaczyński, three fundamental values were the most important: justice, the state and Poland

The late President Lech Kaczyński, who died, together with the Polish elite, when he went to Smolensk to commemorate the anniversary of the murder of our officers, great patriots in Katyn, embodied a certain idea of Poland. An idea that was different from the one embodied by the former rulers of the Third Polish Republic. Three fundamental values were the most important to him: justice, the state and Poland said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Kraśnik, during the ceremony of unveiling the monument of the late President of the Republic of Poland Professor Lech Kaczyński and the victims of the Smolensk catastrophe.

According to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, for the late President of the Republic of Poland Professor Lech Kaczyński the essence was justice understood through the prism of an ordinary man, where the state and politics are to serve an ordinary man. Also his understanding of the law was very different from the positivist version of the understanding of the law in the Third Polish Republic. The rule of law was to be guided primarily by justice said the Prime Minister.

The second big pillar, which was followed by Lech Kaczyński and people close to him ideologically, who together with him went to Smolensk, is the state understood as efficient, effective and strong institutions of the Polish state, which could conduct economic and social policy in an honest way. This is Lech Kaczyński's testament said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki reminded that during the time when the late President of Poland Professor Lech Kaczyński was the President of the Supreme Audit Office in 1993, he published the first list of pillaging privatisations in the history of the Republic of Poland. This was a list that until today should be a list of shame for the rulers of the Third Polish Republic. He added that these predatory privatizations led to the fact that agricultural processing companies were sold out to foreign entreprises and foreign capital. As he explained, the foreign capital that controls e.g. fruit processing, causes that today we are in a completely different position.

The third great idea is the idea of Poland of the Piast and Jagiellonian dynasties, which is an example of a big and strong state that plays in the highest league, cares about its citizens, and on the international arena is able to fight as much as possible for its enterprises, for the whole society. These were the main ideas of Lech Kaczyński stressed the head of government.

We are grateful to all those who cared so beautifully as he did for the idea of the great, proud Republic of Poland. We would like to follow his will to bring these three most beautiful ideas to life. Mr President, Thank You. We will follow your way concluded the Prime Minister.
