A new economical model

Whether we like it or not, the model of Polish economic development was primarily based on a sudden opening which led to the sale of assets and the fall of countless companies in the 1990s and the domination of foreign capital in many sectors – said the Prime Minister. He emphasised that the current government is looking for a solution to these pitfalls by establishing a new economic model based on a sustainable development policy.

Streamlining institutions

Above all, our political camp wishes for a Poland of equal chances and opportunities, also for small towns – declared Mateusz Morawiecki. He added that streamlining institutions is fundamental for the Polish politics. Efficiently tightening up the tax system in the last two years was the fundamental element which resulted in higher financial capacities of the Polish state – demonstrated the Prime Minister. This way, VAT, PIT, CIT and excise duties brought in over PLN 40 billion.

Small and medium-sized companies

We want to strengthen the capital of small and medium-sized Polish entrepreneurs – said the Prime Minister. He added that a solution for the 20 years to come should be found, so that Polish capital grows resulting in an increase in salaries, and that taxes paid fairly support economic growth by promoting innovation and better financing for research and development.

Anti-smog programme

Mateusz Morawiecki also discussed social projects and the necessity of further work on the anti-smog programme by increasing electromobility. We are going to launch an increased drive for the local authorities to replace bus stock with electric vehicles – informed the Prime Minister.

He emphasised the significance of the insulation programme encompassing detached and apartment houses which will see a budget of PLN 25 billion in the upcoming 7-8 years.

Meetings with Poles

In order to pursue a fundamentally changed economic policy, we must have the support, so we are beginning to tour Poland. It is my wish to listen to your questions, doubts, reflections, observations and propositions – said the Prime Minister. As he noted, his government wants to earn the trust of the society, citizens and Polish families. He also asserted his desire to represent everyone, especially the most neglected people.

According to Mateusz Morawiecki, in many areas, Poland does not function the way it should. Through such debates, such as the one we have had today, we want to find the best solutions for Poland – said the Prime Minister.
