Prime Minister: It is crucial to set local investments in motion in order to quickly recover from crisis

The government is supporting local investments which will serve residents. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has presented the members of the self-government of the Świętokrzyskie region with symbolic cheques for subsidies from the Government Fund for Local Investments. The additional money can be used for investments which are close to people, such as renovations of schools, kindergartens or sewage systems. The meeting with the members of the self-government and the residents of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship was also an opportunity to summarise the government support for entrepreneurs. Polish companies have received over PLN 112 billion within the framework of the Anti-Crisis Shield, the Financial Shield of the Polish Development Fund and the Aid Shield of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

The funds from the Government Local Investment Fund are to be used for the construction of roads, renovations of hospitals, sports and educational facilities as well as numerous other investments. For us, it is very important that the money be used for the purposes of setting the economy in motion on a local scale – Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said.

PLN 6 billion for investments for self-governments in the whole Poland

Renovations of schools, kindergartens, investments in sewage systems and water mains – these are just a few of the things which can be funded from the received resources.

The purpose of the establishment of the Government Local Investment Fund was to turn these investments into the flywheels of the entire Silesian Voivodeship and Poland – the head of the government added.

Many municipalities and counties are struggling in terms of their own contributions to investments, and the funds from the so-called Self-government Anti-Crisis Shield will enable obtaining of the necessary gurantees for the implementation of investment tasks. The money will be transferred to municipalities upon the requests of self-governments – without any needless bureaucracy.

The Shield also constitutes a support programme for small and medium-sized Polish companies implementing self-governments’ investment tasks. It constitutes another boost of funds which will make it possible not only to maintain workplaces, but also increase employees’ salaries.
