The Prime Minister emphasised that the Government is currently pursuing a development policy on the Baltic Sea that has not been in place since the Second Polish Republic. Speaking of investments in maritime infrastructure, he mentioned, among other things, the ditch of the Vistula Spit and a further expansion of the LNG terminal in Świnoujście.

Minister Gróbarczyk contributed, among other things, to the success of the Polish economy and the tightening of the tax system, which translates into the possibility of rebuilding the port industry said the Prime Minister in the context of an increase in tax revenues related to the clearance of goods in Polish ports.

Mateusz Morawiecki also referred to the motion for dismissal of Minister Anna Zalewska. He stressed that the Head of the Ministry of National Education had undertaken a difficult task of fixing the Polish education system. The Prime Minister also expressed his support for the need to reform the education system, which has been widely discussed during the consultation process, e.g. through surveys, discussions or debates. Referring to the Public Opinion Research Center’s (CBOS) surveys, he added that the changes that are being implemented are a response to the expectations of the society, which show that 67% of respondents supported the decommissioning of lower secondary schools and the creation of an 8-year primary school and a 4-year secondary school.

The Prime Minister recalled also that the government left the choice of sending 6-year-olds to school to their parents.

The Prime Minister referred also to the question of increasing remuneration for teachers. Thanks to the Minister of Education, real changes have been introduced which translate into pay increases for teachers he pointed out. The pay increase in April 2018, together with this year’s increases amount to a total of PLN 1,000 gross explained Mateusz Morawiecki.

Moreover, among the successes of Minister Anna Zalewska, the Prime Minister pointed out the acceleration of the process of introducing broadband Internet to schools and the implementation of the uniform educational information system.
