“Discipline and persistence of Polish entrepreneurs and employees translates into success,” said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki during his visit to Polmotors in Bielsko-Biała. Although the coronavirus pandemic threatened it, the aid instruments implemented by the government for companies proved to work.

Silesia as a beneficiary of the highest funds

Silesia is one of the regions that has received the most funds in the whole country in the amount of approximately PLN 13.5 billion to save companies in this area. The Prime Minister visited two Silesian companies, namely Polmotors in Bielsko-Biała and Meblomar in Jaworzno. Both entities have benefited from the Financial Shield.

According to the Prime Minister, we are in a very good position to make this additional developmental motor, which is the Financial Shield, work here and now. “At the same time, it is a very good moment to spread the wings, in the economic sense, around the world,” he added.

The greatest support in the history

The total value of payments that have already been made under the Anti-Crisis Shield, the Financial Shield of the Polish Development Fund and the Aid Shield of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego amounted to approximately PLN 113 billion.

“The Shield is a mechanism that makes it possible to get through difficult times,” the Prime Minister said.

The Anti-Crisis Shield

The support under various instruments available within the scope of the Anti-Crisis Shield amounts to over PLN 40 billion. It comprises about 1.71 million loans granted to micro-entrepreneurs and 2.16 million down-time compensations. Additionally, approximately PLN 6.37 billion was granted from the Guaranteed Employee Benefits Fund to protect workplaces. The amount of exemption from social security contributions was PLN 20.84 billion.

The Financial Shield of the Polish Development Fund

Within the framework of the Financial Shield of the Polish Development Fund, companies receive hard cash to their accounts. The application process involves a minimum of paperwork, and the funds are transferred within 24-48 hours after the application is submitted. More than 315 thousand businesses have received over PLN 57 billion into their accounts.

The Aid Shield of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego

Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego granted aid for the total amount of PLN 15.03 billion.
