Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz visits developers of Witcher 3

“You do really good job for Poland. You are great ambassadors of the modern Polish brand all over the world – I’d like to thank you for this very much” – Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz told the developers of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, a video game. The sales of the game created by CD Projekt Red, a Polish studio, will be launched on Monday at 11.00 pm.

The head of the government said that the success of the Witcher series proves that in Poland there are also gifted people who are able to develop and create an export product. Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz emphasised that last year the Polish video game market was worth PLN 230 million, whereas the global one USD 81 billion.

I’m convinced that you will be the first players on this market thanks to your creativity and skills – the head of the government pointed out. I haven’t seen such emotions for a long time – she said after the game presentation.

I also congratulate Andrzej Sapkowski – the author of the books on the basis of which the game has been created – she added.

The game, which received over 200 awards before its premiere, will be published in the box version in 109 countries – no game in the world can boast such a result. The previous games from the Witcher series were bought by over 8 million gamers all over the world.
