”85 years ago, Poland lost not only a political authority but – most of all – one of the Fathers of Independence,” wrote the head of government in a special post on Twitter, commemorating Marshal Piłsudski.

The same day sees the 50th anniversary of the death of General Władysław Anders, whose “talent and faithful service to Poland were admired by Marshal Piłsudski himself,” wrote Mateusz Morawiecki. He added that ”the Anders trail – spanning across three continents, deserts, and steppes – is a symbol of courage and hope to this day”.

In addition, the Prime Minister laid flowers on the Monument to the Fallen and Murdered in the East.
