The prime minister said that economic issues are a priority for the government, which is why a comprehensive “Economy+” programme has been created, and it is based, among other things, on the responsible development plan. One of its elements is the reindustrialisation which will also affect the shipbuilding industry. Providing the example of Autosan in Sanok, the prime minister said that she can see a possibility for the government to purchase necessary products at Polish shipyards. The head of the government informed that the subsequent elements of “Economy+” programme will include a housing programme and one to rebuild the Polish mining sector.
We want the Polish technical thought to be used in the Polish economy”
Prime Minister Beata Szydło arrived in Szczecin to talk about making the city the heart of the Polish shipbuilding industry again. Talking about the shipbuilding industry, she said that she wants
this branch of the industry to be one of our foundations, pillars of the Polish economy. She added that the economy should be based on cooperation of the individual ministries and create good conditions for activity of entrepreneurs.
I’m really satisfied that in such short time we have managed to prepare a bill which will be adopted by the government – the prime minister said about the shipbuilding law. At the same time, she thanked Minister of Economy Markek Gróbarczyk, minister of maritime economy and inland navigation and Minister of Finance Paweł Szałamacha for involvement in its preparation.
Thanks to the introduction of the law, it will be possible to create appropriate conditions for entrepreneurs’ operation. The prime minister informed that the support will be aimed both at entities which currently invest and conduct business activity in the shipbuilding industry, and new companies.
I believe that soon we will be able to implement this project and be happy that the shipyards are full of life, and we are a country which is among top manufacturers of ships – Beata Szydło said. Furthermore, she pointed out that what is an equally important element of the economy is inland navigation, which will also be supported and developed by the government.
During the visit to Zachodniopomorskie Province, Prime Minister Szydło visited e.g. the European LNG Training Centre at the Maritime University of Szczecin.
