As noted by the head of Government, the programme under which the sports field had been modernised, is an example that the Government implement not only big investment projects, but also those which will be used by local communities. She said that the sports field was to serve all residents – children, adults and sportsmen.
Sports facilities as a place of meetings
Prime Minister Beata Szydło added that sports facilities in small towns were to be used not only for developing physical culture, but also as a meeting place for children and adolescents. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of being together and building a community in that way.
According to Beata Szydło, the new sports field proves that it is possible to allocate funds so as to meet the dreams of children about perfecting sports skills and career development.
No training – no success
There is no success in sports, there are no achievements such as medals won at the most important international events, if there is no appropriate training, support and infrastructure – said Witold Bańka, Minister of Sport and Tourism.
As he pointed out, in small towns future stars often were born. Here, they learn the taste of sport, they develop through sport – he stressed.
The head of the Ministry of Sport said that the year before Government support had been received by 718 sports investment projects. Witold Bańka also announced maintaining of the programme for which nearly PLN 500 million will be allocated this year. We will co-finance at least 2.5 thousand sports investment projects across Poland: halls, stadiums, but also such small multipurpose sports fields – informed the Minister.
