Prime Minister Beata Szydło: Polish capital is the salt of our economy

Business starts from an idea, from dreams, but to make ideas and dreams a reality, assistance is necessary. A good climate for business is necessary and the role of the state is to provide it, emphasized Prime Minister Beata Szydło during the inauguration of the debate entitled How to succeed in business? The Polish Champions, which is one of the events of the 27th Economic Forum in Krynica-Zdrój.

During the election campaign of the Law and Justice and then in the government, we adopted a principle to make the small the medium-sized, the medium-sized the large and the large to conquer the world and become champions. We want to have as many champions as possible, said Prime Minister Beata Szydło.

She emphasized that after three decades of economic transformation Poland was ready to redefine the view on what really builds the economic power of Poland.

I am glad to see that economic patriotism is becoming an increasingly popular notion. It is understood in different ways, but increasingly often we can hear that Polish capital and Polish companies are the salt of our economy. We want to do everything to support them so that they developed and competed with the best ones, she said.

The Prime Minister stressed that Poland had necessary potential and people. We finally have the potential in the strength of our economy, so what else can we do but conquer the world? I hope this will happen, she added.

The Prime Minister declared that her presence at the Economic Forum in Krynica highlighted the importance attached by the present government to Polish companies that become global brands. In her opinion, appropriate conditions must be created to enable Polish companies to compete with the world leaders.

We are determined to adopt solutions that would create appropriate conditions for Polish companies to compete with the largest ones and to be champions, assured the Prime Minister, adding that the Responsible Development Plan consistently implemented by her government was one of the instruments to create such conditions.

Polish capital in the economy

The Prime Minister emphasized that the government appreciated the importance of Polish capital in the economy and the role of Polish entrepreneurship. In the past, it was very often the foreign companies that benefitted from our economic growth and now we want to change the proportions, she declared.

She also expressed her hope that the days when politicians believed that foreign capital was the only way to increase the prosperity of Poles are long gone. She added that for the growth to be sustainable it has to be based on a more solid foundation, which in her opinion can be provided by building strong Polish brands.
