Prime Minister Beata Szydło in Żurawica: We will consistently change and amend Poland

It is natural for me that the authorities and the politicians are to solve the problems of citizens, said Prime Minister Beata Szydło at the meeting with the inhabitants of Żurawica gmina (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). A water treatment station was opened in Żurawica. The investment was supported by the government.

The Prime Minister emphasized that it was inconceivable that in the 21st century in the middle of Europe people can have no access to water, as it was for a long time in the Żurawica gmina. Prime Minister Beata Szydło declared that it was natural for her that the authorities and the politicians were to solve the problems of citizens and not to take care only of themselves. We are for the people and not people for us, she stressed during the meeting with the inhabitants of the Żurawica gmina.

The place of the Prime Minister is here, in such small localities, said Prime Minister Beata Szydło. She declared that her government was focusing on matters important for local communities. This is why the programme of her government was compiled as a result of meetings and talks with Poles.

Beata Szydło emphasized that it was important to jointly build a strong Polish state where everyone will have ensured equal conditions for development and equal opportunities. According to the Prime Minister, such investments as the water treatment station Wyszatyce create development opportunities for local communities. They will contribute to improvement of the situation in the region, e.g. to decrease in unemployment and labour migration.

Prime Minister Beata Szydło also said that the previous government turned its back on the matters of ordinary people and took care only of itself. She believes that the politicians from the opposition continue to do so. The Prime Minister declared that her government would consistently repair the country and take care of its sustainable development.

Government support for the Żurawica gmina

The provision of water to several villages in the Żurawica gmina with a total population of almost 5 000 people remained an unsolved problem for many years. The issue of poor quality water was ignored for years (despite the alarming data on the content of iron and manganese), which led to substantial contamination of the sources from which the water was drawn. The situation became so urgent that in 2016 the Żurawica gmina authorities received an order from the sanitary inspection to carry out an investment consisting in extension and refurbishment of the water treatment station in Wyszatyce. The Żurawica gmina applied for financial support from the state budget via the voivode. The gmina received government support (amounting to approx. PLN 1.4 million) for the investment which will allow to increase the quality of life in the region.
