It is a great honour and joy to be able to receive the award on behalf of my father, who wanted to keep fighting for a better Poland until his very end, said the head of Polish government at this year’s gala.

Recalling the late Kornel Morawiecki, the Prime Minister admitted that his father always had great and forward-looking dreams and was never afraid of achieving them no matter whether in the Polish People’s Republic or in the Third Polish Republic.

He stressed that the late Senior Marshal’s attitude to life always balanced between dedication and bravery. When it was necessary to say no in turbulent times, he would say it, he continued.

Mateusz Morawiecki pointed out that his father dedicated his entire life to leaving behind the legacy of a just, free, and beautiful Poland. That is why he is with us today and he will be for all generations to come, he ended.

The winner of this year’s Gazeta Polska Man of the Year Award was Jarosław Kaczyński. In addition to the late Kornel Morawiecki, the Award of the Saint Gregory the Great was presented to Edward Mosberg. Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski won the Award of the Gazeta Polska Clubs.
