At the beginning of the meeting, the Prime Minister referred to changes that are taking place in Poland in the administration of justice.
I want to say very clearly that, as deeply as I can, I believe that we bring justice to a higher level of independence, objectivity and – aptly named - also justice the prime minister argued. He stressed that he had defended the right to reform the judiciary in Poland against PE, which will be carried out until completion. The reform aims to minimize, and in principle, to exclude disgraceful sentences that took place in the previous 25 years - said the Prime Minister.
Thanks to the joint Polish-Israeli declaration, we put the historical truth back on its feet.
We have made a turn unprecedented for the last 30 years and we have regained the honour of our fathers stressed the head of government. At the same time, he stressed that in the face of the fact that Poland began to be credited with the crimes of World War 2 criminals, actions were taken to defend the good name and the law on the Institute of National Remembrance was amended.
We showed what the historical truth really is, we showed the truth about very many Poles, who in a heroic way saved Polish citizens of Jewish nationality, who behaved with great courage during World War 2, we showed the truth about the Polish Underground State, about the government in exile said the President Of the Council of Ministers.
The new economic model
During the meeting, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki underlined that at present Poland is taking the right route towards rebuilding the economy. He reminded that only a year and a half ago, many economists warned against actions taken by the government.
They said it would be the second Greece, that the Responsible Development Plan is a road to nowhere, that in 2017 there was going to be a budget collapse and so far, there has been no budget collapse - said the head of government.
He added that
currently Poland has the lowest increase in public debt, the lowest level of unemployment, one of the highest economic increases, and in 2017, for the first time in 30 years, there has been a decline in public debt the head of the government enumerated. He added that the new economic model works well because the great tax tightening in 2016-2017 proved to be very effective in the fight against VAT and tax mafias.
We are crossing a symbolic border, from developing markets to developed markets the Prime Minister emphasized.
Increased expenditure for people with disabilities
The disabled are a very important, key group, because through its prism one can see whether our policy is really a solidarity policy, a politically sensitive policy said the head of government. As he said, it can be clearly seen in numbers that the expenditure on people with disabilities increased by 25-30%.
In the course of dialogue, we have led to the vast majority of seniors, disabled people who address us, having admitted that we have done a lot and looking positively at our roadmap: in addition to rehabilitation or raising the minimum social pension said Mateusz Morawiecki.
Poland needs modern mining and a modern mining machinery industry, which you have here in Upper Silesia the Prime Minister noted. He added that Poland ranks 3rd and 4th in the world in terms of production of mining machinery. We have a chance to achieve the podium in sales, in modernity. More and more machines are based on electronics, information technology. This is what we want. This is what comes out of Gliwice, from Zabrze, from Sosnowiec. Your companies create new solutions that are sold all over the world.
It is really an excellent achievement said the Prime Minister.
As he noted, the current government wants mining and steel industry to modernize, because thanks to this, Poles can earn more.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki assessed that the negligence of the previous PO-PSL government in the fight against smog is enormous.
We cannot solve the issue of smog in a year or two he said.
At the same time, he assured that the new regulations and acts, including the quality of fuels, furnaces, combustion boilers and the recently announced thermo-modernization program, will contribute to the improvement of air quality.
