The meeting was an opportunity to discuss and strengthen the ties between Poland and the Vatican. The discussion concerned cooperation for world peace and helping those in dire need.

It was the Cardinal's third visit to Poland. Previously, he paid a visit to venues associated with St. John Paul II and held a mass for his Homeland to celebrate 25 years of freedom, and participated as a papal legate in the celebrations of the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland in Gniezno and Poznań in 2016.

This year's jubilee coincides with the 6th anniversary of the election of Pope Francis and the 100th anniversary of the first plenary meeting of the Polish Episcopal Conference.

Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki attended a solemn Holy Mass held in the Temple of Divine Providence, concluding the celebrations.
