During the discussion, politicians addressed, among other things, issues of EU health security, coordination of EU’s external actions and the grand recovery plan for the Community. According to the head of the Polish government, it should be a programme modelled on the Marshall Plan, taking into account the different needs of Member States. The Prime Minister also presented Polish expectations concerning the EU's long-term budget for 2021-27.

The conversation between Mateusz Morawiecki and Charles Michel is part of the preparations for the next EU leaders' video conference, scheduled for 23 April 2020. The EU leaders will then discuss an action plan for economic recovery from the crisis.
