Lublin-Świdnik airport open to passengers!

Starting from today, the new Lublin Airport is offering passenger flights. The construction of the airport cost PLN 418 million, including PLN 125 million from the EU funds.

The Lublin-Świdnik airport is the 13th airport in Poland. It may be used by as many as 1.1 million passengers a year. The area of the new terminal is 11 000 sq.m. and its runway is 2520 m long and approx. 60 m wide. The airport may handle 4 medium-sized passenger aircrafts at the same time. The airport currently offers flights to London, Dublin and Oslo.

The investment received the co-financing of approx. PLN 144.4 million from the Regional Operational Programme (PLN 125 million from the European Regional Development Fund and the remaining part from the state budget).

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy Sławomir Nowak.
