Liquidation of the Ministry of Treasury by the end of 2016
One of the fundamental premises of PiS electoral manifesto was a different structure and organisation of ministries exercising supervision of the State Treasury, said Prime Minister Beata Szydło at the Thursday press conference. She added that it was important for her government that
the supervision over state owned companies was as efficient as possible, transparent and that all pathologies, which had grown over the years were ended.
Within the framework of change effected by Beata Szydło’s government, the ministries of energy, development, maritime economy and inland navigation, and infrastructure and construction had been created. The took over part of the functions of the Ministry of Treasury, which was to be dissolved. The new ministries supervising the resource of the State Treasury also pursue ambitious goals, which stimulate the growth of Polish economy.
Dismissal of the Minister of Treasury Dawid Jackiewicz
Prime Minister reminded that on 26 July the government had adopted a resolution on the liquidation of the Ministry of Treasury. The resolution had specified 15 September as the date, on which the Minister of Treasury should complete the process of preparation of the Ministry of Treasury for formal dissolution.
Today is exactly 15 September. Minister Dawid Jackiewicz completed his task and fulfilled his commitment, and presented both the concept and legislative solutions. Now the Council of Ministers shall carry out the legislative process. Within the next two weeks the draft Act shall be submitted to the Sejm, declared Prime Minister.
By the decision of the head of the government, Minister Dawid Jackiewicz was dismissed from the function of the Minister of Treasury. At the same time Prime Minister informed that the liquidation of the Ministry of Treasury would be supervised by the President of the Standing Committee of the Council of Ministers, Henryk Kowalczyk.
Prime Minister informed that the government’s resolution envisaged completion of the process of liquidation of the Ministry of Treasury by the end of this year, while by the end of first quarter 2017 the competences should be transferred to a new entity, which would supervise State Treasury Companies and exercise ownership supervision.
