Joint statement on the first session of the Unites States of America and the Republic of Poland strategic dialogue on energy

On 11th March 2019 in Houston delegations of the Government of the United States under the chairmanship of Rick Perry,  Secretary of Energy, and the Government of Republic of Poland under the chairmanship of Piotr Naimski, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of Prime Minister, held the meeting inaugurating the strategic dialogue on energy foreseen in Memorandum of Understanding between the Republic of Poland and United States of America signed on 9 November 2018 in Warsaw.

 


As agreed in the memorandum, the subject of the meeting was to discuss joint projects in the areas of cybersecurity, nuclear energy, fossil energy and energy infrastructure.

In particular, the agenda of talks focused on common projects in the sectors of civil nuclear energy, cyber security and fossil fuels. Working groups established on the session have already started further works. Their task is to enhance cooperation in these areas and explore financing solutions for the implementation of joint projects.

The parties appreciate the results of cooperation in LNG market, as evidenced by contracts concluded between American and Polish companies for the supply of natural gas. Both delegations agreed also on the possible cooperation in increasing the LNG import capacity to Poland.
