Minister Elżbieta Rafalska thanked all persons involved in the program’s preparation as well as media and self-governments, and families who showed understanding. She stressed that the families eligible for the allowance will make the best decision on what they are going to spend the money, for example, their children’s education and development.
Beginning of revolution in online service provision
Until the Saturday’s early morning 110,000 application forms were submitted under the Family 500 plus program, said Anna Streżyńska, Minister of Digital Affairs. She added that if the online submission pace is maintained, then within one month all Poles could file their forms for the allowance under the program via the Internet without leaving their homes.
That is a huge breakthrough, stated she and added that that is just the beginning of the digital revolution planned by the government.
We take care to ensure that the entire process is secure, said Minister Streżyńska. She also appealed to use tested channels for submitting the forms online: the program’s dedicated Website and bank Websites. She also advised that thanks to the efficient functioning of the related services, two persons were prevented from committing a financial fraud.
Secured financing of Family 500 plus program
Paweł Szałamacha, Minister of Finance, assured that the Family 500 plus program’s functioning is fully secured. PLN 17 bn was provided for in the 2016 budget.
We also expect the program to have a positive impact on the economy, said the Minister. He appealed to the eligible families to spend those funds in the so-called white economy so all of us could benefit from the program’s introduction.
1 April saw the Family 500 plus program launch. A monthly child-raising allowance totaling PLN 500 is payable to parents regardless of their income for the second and next child until the child turns 18. In the case of families with an income below PLN 800 net per person (or PLN 1,200 for families with a child with a disability), such families will also be eligible for the payment of the allowance in regard of their first child.
