Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki stressed that gas is a very important energy source for Poland, and increase in its utilisation is supported i.a. by means of the governmental programme Clean Air, development of jobs, as well as extraction of native energy raw materials.
We extract slightly more than 4 billion cubic metres of gas, while our gas consumption exceeds 17 billion cubic metres stated the Head of Government. As he added,
the more gas we extract, and the later we distribute and use this gas in our households and in the industry sector, the cleaner our air will be.
The Prime Minister stressed that in the next 4 years, gas extraction will increase by nearly 30% – as a result, Poland will become independent from external gas sources.
Gas from Podkarpacie and Wielkopolska regions will be fed into the Polish gas network, which will be constructed in another 300 gminas declared Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Programme for accelerating investments in the Poland’s gas network in 2018–2022
Gasification will be carried out by extending the gas network with the help of liquefied natural gas (LNG) technologies. 4,817 km of network will be laid down and 77 LNG stations will be constructed. Out of the planned capital expenditure totalling PLN 7.5 billion in 2019–2022, additional funds from the dividend amounting to PLN 0.87 billion will be earmarked for the implementation of the programme.
