The initiative to bring the army back to Nowy Sącz was taken by the
Sądeczanin Association and found wide support among the local communities – 30 thousand signatures were collected regarding this matter. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the resolution on this matter was unanimously supported by the regional assembly of the Małopolskie Voivodeship.
Beata Szydło pointed out that the Law and Justice government has been working from the outset to increase people’s sense of security. She added that all the projects to modernise the uniformed services, as well as the government’s migration policy at the EU level, were driven by this.
The Minister of the National Defence stressed that if the Polish Army is to expand, it must return to the places where it had been before and which the army had left.
A bigger army equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry is also a guarantee of the international position of our country said Mariusz Błaszczak.
