Another month of falling unemployment

The rate of unemployment reached 9.6 percent in October. It is a 0.1 percentage point drop compared to September 2015.

Calculations by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy show that October was yet another month of single-digit unemployment. Compared to October 2014, unemployment fell by 1.7 percentage points.

At the end of October 2015, there were 1,518,300 people registered in Labour Offices. The number of jobless went down by 21,200 over the last month only. The situation improved most in the Wielkopolskie, Łódzkie and Mazowieckie provinces. The lowest unemployment rate is still recorded in the Wielkopolskie (6.1 pct), Śląskie (8.1 pct) and Małopolskie (8.2 pct) provinces.

In October 2015, employers offered almost 112,000 jobs and employment programme vacancies through labour offices. This is 13,900 more compared to October 2014.
