A telephone conversation of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki with the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanjahu

The issues of current international agenda and strategic relations between Poland and Israel were the focus of the conversation of Prime Ministers Mateusz Morawiecki and Benjamin Netanjahu.


The conversation, which was held on the initiative of the Israeli Prime Minister was the occasion for him to personally congratulate the Polish Prime Minister and to discuss current international agenda. Poland, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, is consulted on issues handled by this forum. Furthermore, both interlocutors emphasised very good bilateral relations, the strategic dimension of which is emphasised by the permanent mechanism of inter-governmental consultations. The focus of economic cooperation of both countries on areas such as innovation, high technologies and defence industry was also stressed.

The most recent inter-governmental consultations were held on 22 November 2016 in Jerusalem. Outcomes of the meeting included conclusion of an agreement on social security. On 19 July 2017 in Budapest Prime Ministers of the Visegrád Group met with the Prime Minister of Israel for the first time in history. Strengthening of cooperation in economy, science and technology, as well as the readiness to continue the V4+Israel dialogue at the level of heads of governments were agreed upon.
